Kelly Wilson
Dr. Kelly G. Wilson, is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Mississippi and Science Director for HometownScience.org, a public charity engaged in science for the public good. Dr. Wilson was awarded the Elsie M. Hood Teaching in 2010 and the University Outstanding Faculty, Working for Academic Excellence Award from the Mississippi Legislature in 2011. He has served two terms as a Representative-at-Large for the Society for a Science of Clinical Psychology and was President of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science.

Dr. Wilson received his bachelor’s degree Summa Cum Laude from Gonzaga University and his doctorate from the University of Nevada, Reno. He is one of the co-developers of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, publishing 71ß articles and chapters, and 9 books including both technical books such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy: An Experiential Approach to Behavior Change, as well as books for the public, such as, Things Might Go Terribly, Horribly Wrong: A Guide to Life Liberated from Anxiety. He has central interests in the application of behavioral principles to topics such as human purpose, meaning, and values.

Dr. Wilson’s love of teaching has taken him around the world. He has presented his work in 23 countries on 5 continents since joining the faculty at the University of Mississippi in 2000. He has served as co-investigator in a wide range of research projects in the U.S. and worldwide.
