The Research and Professional Development (RPD) Committee is chaired by an individual who serves a three-year term. The Chair oversees the review of RPD submissions for the annual ABCT convention. These objectives, along with other performance benchmarks, are outlined in greater detail below.

- Review and rate RPD submissions.
- Solicit RPD submissions as necessary to round out Convention Programming.
- In consultation with other members of the Convention Committee, make final disposition decisions on RPD submissions.
- Review post-conference RPD feedback from conference attendees to inform future decisions about programming, solicitations for submissions, and final dispositions.
- Write an annual progress report and submit it to the Convention & Education Issues Coordinator for presentation to the Board of Directors.
