JASON M. SATTERFIELD is Professor of Clinical Medicine and Director of Behavioral Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of California San Francisco. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1995 and completed his internship and postdoctoral fellowship at UCSF. As a licensed psychologist, Dr. Satterfield’s work has included adaptations to cognitive-behavioral therapy groups for underserved, medically-ill populations and CBT interventions for patients at the “beginning of the end of life.” Dr. Satterfield's current interests include screening and brief interventions for substance use and the dissemination of evidence-based behavioral practices, and evidence-based teaching. He currently directs behavioral medicine training for UCSF medical students and residents.
