Three-Quarters of Those Using CBT-I See Long-Term Improvements in Insomnia
Christina Caron of the New York Times provided a very positive review of CBT-I, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, that alleviates sleep problems in more than ¾ of users. Among said ¾ of users, CBT-I was found to be as effective as medications in the short-term and much more effective over the long haul.
CBT-I addresses sleep hygiene, anxieties, and negative beliefs about sleep that can develop as problems persist.
Caron includes some self-administered CBT-I in her article, which can be found at at The New York Times.
